While most yoga classes are very welcoming, it’s important for beginning yoga practitioners to be aware of some basic yoga etiquette. Some yoga etiquette is mostly common sense. For example, you shouldn’t arrive late or pack up to leave early to avoid disturbing other people’s practice. It’s also a given that you should never step on anyone else’s mat. Other yoga etiquette might not be so intuitive to a beginner. For example, you should stagger the placement of your mat to make sure everyone has enough room, and try to stay quiet before class begins.
- Be considerate of others when you attend a yoga class
- Give everyone their own personal space at yoga class including room to move and staying off their mat
- Limit noise at a yoga class; try not to arrive late or leave early
