Knee clicking can occur due to a variety of reasons. Serious injury to the knee area, Runners knee, damage to the meniscus and shock absorber, arthritis,ACL and MCL tears and more are all reasons you could have knee clicking. Obviously at times this could be quite painful and require a doctors attention. When your knee is not properly aligned with the rest of you leg, you will hear this knee clicking noise. Most of the knee clicking sounds are related to some sort of injury to the knee.
- Very often, knee clicking results because part of the knee is not in its proper position, and so other parts of the leg are forced to compensate for it
- Knee clicking can be a symptom of a current injury/condition or of a past injury that failed to heal properly
- Knee clicking might also be a symptom of arthritis that has spread to the knees and caused the knee to inflame and align itself improperly
Knee clicking tends to occur when the joints are being extended, and at times, it can be accompanied by severe pain.
