Snacking

Metabolism differs from person to person, and speed of weight loss will be likewise. Ensure that you understand that some snacks labeled as healthy may not be. Always be vigilant.

Low fat snacks are generally high in sugar or salt making them an unwise choice. Wherever possible go for fresh options like carrot sticks, celery, fresh berries etc. These will be far more beneficial in the long run.

A good rule of thumb is to eat little and often. Any snacks that are high in carbohydrate or sugar are not the optimal choice but as an infrequent indulgence it is possible to accommodate this in a varied and balanced diet.

Fresh and healthy snacking will certainly keep your energy levels topped up whilst reducing the feeling or craving of a bigger meal later on. Please do discuss this with a professional (doctor or nutrition expert) if you have any concerns about diet and or your health.
